Welcome to Prince of Peace Faith Formation Program

Prince of Peace is happy to offer an innovative and hands-on children’s faith formation program for children from 5 to 17.

This year’s K-5 Faith Formation program will meet two Wednesdays a month. Parents are encouraged to attend for monthly educational sessions.  Faith formation for 6th grade and over has not changed, and will continue meeting on a weekly basis on Wednesdays from 5:30-7:15 p.m.

Classes will begin at 5:30 p.m. with dinner and will conclude at 7:15 p.m.

Students who are eligible to receive the Sacraments of First Holy Communion or Confirmation must have attended a Faith Formation program last year. Sacramental preparation classes take place the first Sunday of each month at 10:45am until 11:45am, with Mass to follow at noon.

Catechesis is a responsibility of the entire Christian community. This is should not be the work of catechists and priests alone, but of the whole community of the faithful. The Christian community follows the development of catechetical processes, for children, young people and adults, as a duty that involves and binds it directly. (GDC 220) A fully Christian community can exist only when a systematic catechesis of all its members takes place and when an effective and well developed catechesis of adults is regarded as the central task of the catechetical enterprise.” (ACCC, no. 25).
