Music Ministry

Sacred Choir

The Cantorum Sacrum of Prince of Peace Catholic Church exists to enhance the liturgical celebration and to provide an opportunity for parishioners, who have musical ability, to share their talent with our community. Members must need to know how to read a part and must have a good ear and a tuneful voice; previous choral experience would be helpful. A quick and simple audition will enable the director in placing your voice where it best belongs. Being in the choir is a wonderful time to meet new people and experience a camaraderie that only music can evoke.

The choir season usually begins in September and ends after Pentecost. Membership is open to part-time residents and all who wish to join. Rehearsals are scheduled during the week at 2:00 pm Tuesdays. The choir sings at the Sunday 10:00 am Mass.

Contact the parish office for more information.

Schola Cantorum

The Schola Cantorum is a smaller ensemble of dedicated singers who enhance various liturgies. They rehearse separately from the choir.  Membership in one of the schola groups does require an audition. Contact the parish office for additional information.

Cantors

The cantors hold an awesome responsibility in the music ministry as they are servants of the liturgy of the Mass. Its is imperative that the cantor have a dedicated and thorough approach to singing. Experience in solo singing as well as sight-reading is helpful. If you are interested in auditioning to be a cantor please the parish office.   Cantors must sing in either the Scola Cantorum or the Cantorum Sacrum, or both.
