Bunka Classes

Bunka, classes in the Art of Japanese Bunka Embroidery, also called painting with thread, meet Mondays from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Conesa Center.

This is a great art that has been handed down from the Chinese to the Japanese over nine hundred years ago, and is only allowed to be done by the ladies of the Imperial Court.

Today, new techniques and equipment allows us to learn and perform this beautiful art. Anyone interested in this art is welcome to join this class – men and women! It will prove to be an interesting and enriching.

Peace Needlers

The Peace Needlers is a group of women who make a variety of items for Hospice, Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Veterans’ Homes, cancer patients, and many more. We knit, crochet, and sew. We are a non-profit group, and we supply a lot of our own materials. We periodically ask members of the parish for yarn. We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Room 9 of Conesa Center.

Our Lady’s Rosary Makers

Our Lady’s Rosary Makers of Prince of Peace invite parishioners, men and women, to join them in making rosaries to pray for world peace.

The rosaries are distributed to the missions, the needy, the sick, to prisons, and to other ministries. Each member makes rosaries at home at their own pace.

There are many jobs in the rosary making process, from counting beads to assembling them. The completed rosaries are sent to missions throughout the world. All are welcome to be part of this ministry.

Pinochle Club

The Pinochle Club has been getting together for over ten years playing once a month in Conesa Center and prior to that in the homes of our players. We gather together on the 3rd Tuesday of each moth at 6:30 pm. We are a social club for people who know how to play and like to get out in the evening. You do not need a partner. We play 4 people to a table and sometimes we will have a 3 person table. You do not have to play every month, so come when you can.
